# Split Screen vs Bro Browser

The clearest difference is monetization model: Split Screen at free with in-app purchases against Bro Browser's subscription. Bro Browser's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Split Screen sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Bro Browser sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for Split Screen against 4.5 for Bro Browser. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 482 and 1.1K respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 43% of Split Screen's written reviews are positive against 50% of Bro Browser's.

Split Screen ships an update every 6 months, Bro Browser fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
