# Area Measure vs LiDAR Toolkit

The clearest difference is update cadence: LiDAR Toolkit at every 5 days against Area Measure's every 69 months. LiDAR Toolkit also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Area Measure sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and LiDAR Toolkit sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Area Measure ships an update every 69 months, LiDAR Toolkit every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
