# Frames vs Plastipic

The clearest difference is ads: Plastipic at none against Frames's shown. Frames's advantage is ratings volume (404 vs 2) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Frames sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Plastipic sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Plastipic holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Frames has 404 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Frames ships an update every 2 weeks, Plastipic every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
