# Frames vs Frames

Frames and Frames both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 94% of Frames's written reviews are positive against 29% of Frames's. Frames also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). Frames's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, rating, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Frames sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Frames sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.8 for Frames against 4.7 for Frames. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 404 and 624 respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 94% of Frames's written reviews are positive against 29% of Frames's.

Frames ships an update every 2 weeks, Frames every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
