# Next lock vs Philips Home Access

The clearest difference is rating: Philips Home Access at 3.7 against Next lock's 2.7. Philips Home Access also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (549 vs 75). Next lock's advantage is review sentiment (42% vs 26%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Philips Home Access holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Philips Home Access has 549 ratings behind it against 75, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of Next lock's written reviews are positive against 26% of Philips Home Access's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Next lock ships an update every 3 months, Philips Home Access every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 27, 2026.
