# Optimum vs YidPod

Optimum and YidPod both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 56% of YidPod's written reviews are positive against 15% of Optimum's. YidPod also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 14.0). Optimum's advantage is ratings volume (28K vs 28). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Optimum against 4.5 for YidPod. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Optimum has 28K ratings behind it against 28, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 15% of Optimum's written reviews are positive against 56% of YidPod's.

Optimum ships an update every 4 months, YidPod fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
