# Speakometer vs Model Academy

The clearest difference is ads: Speakometer at none against Model Academy's shown. Speakometer also leads on ratings volume (2K vs 5). Model Academy's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (100% vs 85%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speakometer sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Model Academy sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $29.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Model Academy holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speakometer has 2K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 85% of Speakometer's written reviews are positive against 100% of Model Academy's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
