# Cotton Patch Cafe Ordering vs Hey Roost

The clearest difference is update cadence: Hey Roost at every 3 weeks against Cotton Patch Cafe Ordering's every 6 months. Hey Roost also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). Cotton Patch Cafe Ordering's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 71). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cotton Patch Cafe Ordering holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cotton Patch Cafe Ordering has 1.4K ratings behind it against 71, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of Cotton Patch Cafe Ordering's written reviews are positive against 38% of Hey Roost's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cotton Patch Cafe Ordering ships an update every 6 months, Hey Roost every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
