# Document Convert vs TextCrypt

The clearest difference is ads: Document Convert at none against TextCrypt's shown. Document Convert also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (65 vs 4). TextCrypt's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 34 months) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Document Convert sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and TextCrypt sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Document Convert holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Document Convert has 65 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Document Convert ships an update every 34 months, TextCrypt monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 22, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
