# Walling vs Effie

The clearest difference is rating: Walling at 4.7 against Effie's 4.3. Walling also leads on update cadence (every 6 days vs fortnightly) and ratings volume (323 vs 36). Effie's advantage is review sentiment (75% vs 63%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Walling sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $59.99 per year and Effie sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $6.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Walling holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Walling has 323 ratings behind it against 36, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of Walling's written reviews are positive against 75% of Effie's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Walling ships an update every 6 days, Effie fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
