# iPodcasts vs AskScripture

The clearest difference is ads: iPodcasts at none against AskScripture's shown. iPodcasts also leads on iOS requirement (9.3 vs 15.1). AskScripture's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iPodcasts sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and AskScripture sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

iPodcasts ships an update every 2 months, AskScripture every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
