The apocalypse is here. There is one bunker, and it has room for only half of you. Shelter is a party game for a group of 6 or more: everyone gets a random character on their own phone and has to talk their way inside. Reveal your characteristics, argue your case, vote someone out. Will the team you let in survive? HOW A GAME GOES • One player creates a room and picks a card set. Everyone else joins with the bunker number or by scanning a QR code. • You all read the same catastrophe: the apocalypse, the bunker, the number of places, the resources inside and the time you will spend there. • Each player gets a character: profession, bio, health, hobby, phobia, personality, additional info, knowledge and baggage, plus an action card and an event card. • The game has 4 rounds. Players take turns revealing characteristics and explaining why the bunker needs them. The profession is open from the start. • After every round there is a discussion and a vote. Whoever is voted out stays outside. • When there are as many players left as there are places in the bunker, you open the ending: an event that tests whether your team can really survive. A game lasts about an hour on average. We recommend 10 to 14 players. WHY GROUPS KEEP PLAYING • Every game is different: a new apocalypse, a new bunker and a new character each time. • The deal is balanced: the total value of the characteristics is the same for every character in the room, so it comes down to how well you argue. • An action card and an event card can turn the game around. • A timer for speeches, notes under every character, a spectator mode, and sharing of a character or of the whole game. • Works offline: you can create a room and join a game with no internet connection. • No account and no login. SIX LANGUAGES English, Russian, German, Spanish, French and Portuguese. The interface and all the cards are translated, and you pick the language on the first screen. THEMED CARD SETS A themed set changes the whole game: professions, facts, baggage, bunkers and apocalypses. • Anime: mangaka, shinobi and mech pilots • School of Magic: brooms, spells and the restricted section • Cyberpunk: implants, corporations and the net • Stone Age: fire, the herd and the long winter • The Middle Ages: knights, jesters and the black death • Deep Space: an empire, an order and the voice of the machine • The Wild West: saloons, sheriffs and dust on the trail • Halloween: pumpkins, the crypt and All Hallows' Eve • Extended: twice as many characteristics and events Together the paid sets add +7100 characteristics. SETS AND PREMIUM The Standard set is free to play and shows ads. Any other set can be bought forever, one by one or all at once, and "All sets" includes the sets released later. A one-time purchase opens card sets only. The Premium subscription opens every set, removes ads and unlocks the premium settings: sport mode, character balance tuning and your own choice of apocalypses, bunkers and characteristics. Only the player who creates the room needs a purchase: everyone else joins for free. Purchases can be restored. GOOD TO KNOW Shelter is a tabletop party game and a character generator, not an online game. The apocalypse, the bunker and the characters are the same for everyone in the room, but there is no chat and no matchmaking in the app: you talk face to face or in the voice call you already use. Premium is an auto-renewable subscription, monthly or yearly. The subscription renews automatically. You can cancel any time in your App Store account settings.
