# Firespot vs Wildfire Tracker

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Firespot at 6K against Wildfire Tracker's 182. Firespot also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5). Wildfire Tracker's advantage is chart position (#20 vs #150) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.6). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Firespot sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $29.99 per year and Wildfire Tracker sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Firespot holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Firespot has 6K ratings behind it against 182, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 44% of Firespot's written reviews are positive against 46% of Wildfire Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Firespot ships an update every 3 weeks, Wildfire Tracker every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 17, 2026.
