# Paystub Maker vs Paystub Generator

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Paystub Maker at 1.1K against Paystub Generator's 20. Paystub Maker also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 6 weeks). Paystub Generator's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Paystub Maker sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Paystub Generator sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Paystub Generator holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Paystub Maker has 1.1K ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Paystub Maker ships an update every 9 days, Paystub Generator every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
