# AU vs Bites

The clearest difference is rating: Bites at 4.6 against AU's 3.0. Bites also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (2.2K vs 3). AU's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (67% vs 43%). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bites sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. AU asks for nothing beyond the download.

Bites holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bites has 2.2K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of AU's written reviews are positive against 43% of Bites's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AU ships an update every 2 weeks, Bites fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
