# LegitApp Authentication vs Penny Sentry

The clearest difference is monetization model: Penny Sentry at free against LegitApp Authentication's free with in-app purchases. LegitApp Authentication's advantage is ratings volume (10K vs 3) and rating (4.9 vs 4.7). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

LegitApp Authentication holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LegitApp Authentication has 10K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

LegitApp Authentication ships an update weekly, Penny Sentry every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
