# TOOK vs AquariumChat

The clearest difference is ratings volume: TOOK at 88 against AquariumChat's 1. TOOK also leads on iOS requirement (10.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TOOK sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and AquariumChat sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for TOOK against 5.0 for AquariumChat. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TOOK has 88 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TOOK ships an update every 3 weeks, AquariumChat fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
