# FitTrace Sync vs Dotnote

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Dotnote at 100% against FitTrace Sync's 25%. Dotnote also leads on rating (5.0 vs 3.3) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 6 weeks). FitTrace Sync's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (9 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FitTrace Sync sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and Dotnote sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Dotnote holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FitTrace Sync has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 25% of FitTrace Sync's written reviews are positive against 100% of Dotnote's.

FitTrace Sync ships an update every 6 weeks, Dotnote every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on September 30, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
