# AxNote vs NoteEase

The clearest difference is monetization model: AxNote at free against NoteEase's subscription. AxNote also leads on review sentiment (50% vs 42%). NoteEase's advantage is ratings volume (66 vs 7) and iOS requirement (14.1 vs 26.0). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AxNote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and NoteEase sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for AxNote against 4.4 for NoteEase. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NoteEase has 66 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 50% of AxNote's written reviews are positive against 42% of NoteEase's.

AxNote ships an update every 2 months, NoteEase monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
