# Pupl vs Flashcards

The clearest difference is monetization model: Pupl at free with in-app purchases against Flashcards's subscription. Pupl also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). Flashcards's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pupl sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Flashcards sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flashcards holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 1 respectively.

Pupl ships an update every 3 weeks, Flashcards every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
