# CDL Exam Expert vs CDL Prep A+

The clearest difference is update cadence: CDL Prep A+ at every 5 weeks against CDL Exam Expert's every 7 months. CDL Exam Expert's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CDL Exam Expert sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and CDL Prep A+ sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CDL Exam Expert ships an update every 7 months, CDL Prep A+ every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 19, 2026 respectively.
