# WidgetDaily vs Smart Widget

The clearest difference is update cadence: WidgetDaily at every 2 days against Smart Widget's every 10 days. WidgetDaily also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and review sentiment (80% vs 67%). Smart Widget's advantage is ratings volume (882 vs 11) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WidgetDaily sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Smart Widget sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WidgetDaily holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Widget has 882 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 80% of WidgetDaily's written reviews are positive against 67% of Smart Widget's.

WidgetDaily ships an update every 2 days, Smart Widget every 10 days. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
