# LikeRead vs MyNovel

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MyNovel at 68% against LikeRead's 23%. MyNovel also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (12K vs 352). LikeRead's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 12.4). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LikeRead sells 8 one-off in-app purchases and MyNovel sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MyNovel holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyNovel has 12K ratings behind it against 352, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 23% of LikeRead's written reviews are positive against 68% of MyNovel's.

LikeRead ships an update every 3 weeks, MyNovel every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
