# Special Dates vs Aim

The clearest difference is rating: Aim at 4.8 against Special Dates's 4.0. Aim also leads on update cadence (every 11 days vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (22 vs 5). Special Dates's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (61% vs 50%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Special Dates sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Aim sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Aim holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 22 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Special Dates's written reviews are positive against 50% of Aim's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Special Dates ships an update every 3 months, Aim every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
