# Chameleon vs Widgit

The clearest difference is rating: Widgit at 4.5 against Chameleon's 3.9. Widgit also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (146 vs 37). Chameleon's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly) and review sentiment (55% vs 47%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chameleon sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Widgit asks for nothing beyond the download.

Widgit holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 37 and 146 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Chameleon's written reviews are positive against 47% of Widgit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chameleon ships an update every 9 days, Widgit monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
