# Chameleon vs Themee

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Themee at none against Chameleon's 1. Themee also leads on rating (4.2 vs 3.9) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). Chameleon's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chameleon sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Themee asks for nothing beyond the download.

Themee holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.9. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 37 and 36 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Chameleon's written reviews are positive against 50% of Themee's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Chameleon ships an update every 9 days, Themee every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
