# Chameleon vs DesktopWidget

The clearest difference is update cadence: DesktopWidget at every 3 days against Chameleon's every 9 days. On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chameleon sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and DesktopWidget sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chameleon ships an update every 9 days, DesktopWidget every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 9, 2026.
