# Chilipad vs Idealbed

The clearest difference is rating: Chilipad at 4.7 against Idealbed's 2.7. Chilipad also leads on ratings volume (5K vs 12) and review sentiment (34% vs 25%). Idealbed's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 2 months) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Chilipad holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chilipad has 5K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 34% of Chilipad's written reviews are positive against 25% of Idealbed's.

Chilipad ships an update every 2 months, Idealbed every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
