# OpenAcademy vs VisualMind

The clearest difference is review sentiment: OpenAcademy at 100% against VisualMind's 23%. VisualMind's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 2.0) and ratings volume (3.3K vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. OpenAcademy sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and VisualMind sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $13.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VisualMind holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VisualMind has 3.3K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of OpenAcademy's written reviews are positive against 23% of VisualMind's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

OpenAcademy ships an update monthly, VisualMind every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
