# MagicWidgets vs Transparent Widget

The clearest difference is rating: MagicWidgets at 4.7 against Transparent Widget's 3.7. MagicWidgets also leads on ratings volume (7.3K vs 51) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). Transparent Widget's advantage is review sentiment (46% vs 35%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MagicWidgets sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Transparent Widget sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MagicWidgets holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MagicWidgets has 7.3K ratings behind it against 51, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 35% of MagicWidgets's written reviews are positive against 46% of Transparent Widget's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MagicWidgets ships an update fortnightly, Transparent Widget every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
