# MagicWidgets vs DIY Widgets

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MagicWidgets at 35% against DIY Widgets's 8%. MagicWidgets also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (7.4K vs 169). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MagicWidgets sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and DIY Widgets sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MagicWidgets holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MagicWidgets has 7.4K ratings behind it against 169, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 35% of MagicWidgets's written reviews are positive against 8% of DIY Widgets's.

MagicWidgets ships an update fortnightly, DIY Widgets every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
