# Tricky Track 3D vs Material Shifter

The clearest difference is rating: Tricky Track 3D at 4.6 against Material Shifter's 3.9. Tricky Track 3D also leads on ratings volume (27K vs 27) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tricky Track 3D sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Material Shifter sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Tricky Track 3D holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tricky Track 3D has 27K ratings behind it against 27, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of Tricky Track 3D's written reviews are positive against 50% of Material Shifter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tricky Track 3D ships an update every 3 weeks, Material Shifter every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
