# Zubie vs Defensive Instructor

The clearest difference is rating: Defensive Instructor at 5.0 against Zubie's 3.9. Defensive Instructor also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). Zubie's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (13 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Defensive Instructor holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Zubie has 13 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Zubie ships an update every 8 days, Defensive Instructor every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
