# Atai vs HEAVYPAINT

The clearest difference is rating: HEAVYPAINT at 4.0 against Atai's 3.0. HEAVYPAINT also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (66 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Atai sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and HEAVYPAINT sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HEAVYPAINT holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: HEAVYPAINT has 66 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Atai's written reviews are positive against 58% of HEAVYPAINT's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Atai ships an update every 2 months, HEAVYPAINT every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
