# Evchargo vs Decibel Meter

Evchargo and Decibel Meter both sit at 4.5 stars, but that hides the real split: 81% of Decibel Meter's written reviews are positive against 20% of Evchargo's. Decibel Meter also leads on ratings volume (347 vs 18) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). Evchargo's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 12) and ads (none vs shown). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Decibel Meter sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Evchargo asks for nothing beyond the download.

Evchargo holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Decibel Meter has 347 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 20% of Evchargo's written reviews are positive against 81% of Decibel Meter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Evchargo ships an update monthly, Decibel Meter every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
