# Cogeco Wi vs Pay Box Timer

The clearest difference is rating: Cogeco Wi at 3.8 against Pay Box Timer's 1.7. Cogeco Wi also leads on update cadence (every 6 months vs every 15 months) and ratings volume (58 vs 6). Pay Box Timer's advantage is review sentiment (33% vs 3%) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cogeco Wi holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 1.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cogeco Wi has 58 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 3% of Cogeco Wi's written reviews are positive against 33% of Pay Box Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cogeco Wi ships an update every 6 months, Pay Box Timer every 15 months. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
