# Leaf VPN vs ShadowShare

The clearest difference is rating: ShadowShare at 4.7 against Leaf VPN's 3.8. Leaf VPN's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Leaf VPN sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.49 per 7 days and ShadowShare sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ShadowShare holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 385 and 367 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 58% of Leaf VPN's written reviews are positive against 60% of ShadowShare's.

Leaf VPN ships an update every 2 weeks, ShadowShare every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
