# Firework Simulation vs Fireworks Play

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Firework Simulation at none against Fireworks Play's 1. Firework Simulation also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 87%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). Fireworks Play's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and update cadence (monthly vs every 6 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fireworks Play sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Firework Simulation asks for nothing beyond the download.

Fireworks Play holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fireworks Play has 3.6K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Firework Simulation's written reviews are positive against 87% of Fireworks Play's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Firework Simulation ships an update every 6 months, Fireworks Play monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
