# Assignment Planner vs School Planner by Dotty

The clearest difference is rating: Assignment Planner at 4.6 against School Planner by Dotty's 2.5. Assignment Planner also leads on ratings volume (138 vs 2) and device support (5 vs 3). School Planner by Dotty's advantage is review sentiment (73% vs 57%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Assignment Planner sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and School Planner by Dotty sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Assignment Planner holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Assignment Planner has 138 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Assignment Planner's written reviews are positive against 73% of School Planner by Dotty's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Assignment Planner ships an update every 5 weeks, School Planner by Dotty every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
