# Device Tracker vs Speaker Connect ™

The clearest difference is monetization model: Speaker Connect ™ at freemium against Device Tracker's subscription. Speaker Connect ™ also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 6 weeks) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Device Tracker's advantage is ratings volume (37K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Device Tracker sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Speaker Connect ™ sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speaker Connect ™ holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Device Tracker has 37K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Device Tracker ships an update every 6 weeks, Speaker Connect ™ daily. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
