# Wehrschach vs Chess Blitz

The clearest difference is update cadence: Chess Blitz at every 5 days against Wehrschach's every 6 months. Wehrschach's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wehrschach sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Chess Blitz sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Wehrschach ships an update every 6 months, Chess Blitz every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
