# MapGenie vs Dabloon Tracker

The clearest difference is ads: Dabloon Tracker at none against MapGenie's shown. Dabloon Tracker also leads on review sentiment (74% vs 43%) and update cadence (every 3 months vs every 36 months). MapGenie's advantage is ratings volume (3.2K vs 43) and rating (4.5 vs 4.2). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MapGenie sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Dabloon Tracker sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MapGenie holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MapGenie has 3.2K ratings behind it against 43, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 43% of MapGenie's written reviews are positive against 74% of Dabloon Tracker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MapGenie ships an update every 36 months, Dabloon Tracker every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
