# Countdown Buddy vs AI Maps

The clearest difference is ads: Countdown Buddy at none against AI Maps's shown. Countdown Buddy also leads on ratings volume (25K vs 7). AI Maps's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 68%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown Buddy sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and AI Maps sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AI Maps holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown Buddy has 25K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 68% of Countdown Buddy's written reviews are positive against 100% of AI Maps's.

Countdown Buddy ships an update every 9 days, AI Maps weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
