# Robot Trains vs Amber

The clearest difference is ads: Amber at none against Robot Trains's shown. Amber also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 45 months). Robot Trains's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.4). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Robot Trains sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Amber sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Robot Trains ships an update every 45 months, Amber fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
