# Penedex vs Quick Subtitles

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Penedex at 75% against Quick Subtitles's 0%. Penedex also leads on price (Free vs $39.99) and ratings volume (16 vs 4). Quick Subtitles's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.3) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Penedex is free to download; Quick Subtitles costs $39.99 up front. Penedex sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Quick Subtitles sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Quick Subtitles holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 16 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Penedex's written reviews are positive against 0% of Quick Subtitles's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Penedex ships an update every 5 weeks, Quick Subtitles every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
