# Berty Messenger vs QUUL

The clearest difference is rating: QUUL at 5.0 against Berty Messenger's 3.1. QUUL also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Berty Messenger's advantage is ratings volume (23 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

QUUL holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Berty Messenger has 23 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
