# Berty Messenger vs nande

The clearest difference is update cadence: nande at every 3 weeks against Berty Messenger's every 2 months. Berty Messenger's advantage is iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Berty Messenger ships an update every 2 months, nande every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
