# Field Insight vs RigTracer

The clearest difference is monetization model: Field Insight at free against RigTracer's subscription. Field Insight also leads on ratings volume (16 vs 3) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.6). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Field Insight against 5.0 for RigTracer. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Field Insight has 16 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Field Insight ships an update every 2 weeks, RigTracer every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
