# Widget vs The Time Zone Converter

The clearest difference is monetization model: The Time Zone Converter at free with in-app purchases against Widget's subscription. The Time Zone Converter also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (1.5K vs 101). Widget's advantage is update cadence (every 3 days vs every 4 weeks) and review sentiment (58% vs 46%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Widget sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and The Time Zone Converter sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Time Zone Converter holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Time Zone Converter has 1.5K ratings behind it against 101, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 58% of Widget's written reviews are positive against 46% of The Time Zone Converter's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Widget ships an update every 3 days, The Time Zone Converter every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
