# TapLink vs Beacons

The clearest difference is review sentiment: TapLink at 100% against Beacons's 37%. TapLink also leads on rating (4.2 vs 3.2) and monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Beacons's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (99 vs 5). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

TapLink holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Beacons has 99 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of TapLink's written reviews are positive against 37% of Beacons's.

TapLink ships an update every 2 weeks, Beacons monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
